Category: Orientation

Orientation is not therapy. It is not coaching. It does not treat a condition or drive performance toward a goal. It locates you — structurally, architecturally — so that the next move you make is made from an accurate read of the terrain, not a guess. This section explains the difference, and when each tool is the right one.

Most support tools assume you already know where you are standing and just need help getting somewhere else — therapy processes what happened, coaching pushes toward a target, a personality test hands you a label. Orientation does something different: it maps the terrain first, before anyone talks about a destination. That distinction matters most at a threshold, when the old map has stopped being accurate and the new one has not been drawn yet. These posts unpack what orientation actually does, how it differs from the tools most people reach for first, and why getting the sequence right — locate, then move — changes what happens next. The Diagnostic is where that mapping actually happens.
